Willa had accident with ink. Left at noon to go to Sussex. Missed her train, ruined her dress, general excitement all around. Went up town and got pattern for tress that Mama’s going to make me, a blue voile.

Diary of Llewellyn: June 26, 1924

Sat on porch till about 9 o’clock and then went to bed. Had Alice Smith was my hair at 6 o’clock. Bought pink jersey slip.

Diary of Llewellyn: June 25, 1924

Heavy shower came up just as I got on train, showered all the way out to Great Notch. George met me at train. Took ride over to Northfield & back. George & Florence went with us. Cleared off lovely and cool after shower. Sent Vivian silk shirt & Belle Mickel 6 tea napkins for her wedding.

Diary of Llewellyn: June 24, 1924

Pa came back from farm and we took ride down to Verona, Pleasandale, Northfield, Essex Fells and home. George got infection in his face. Mama got stye on her eye.

Very warm. Layed down on couch and fell asleep, went to bed at 8:30.

Diary of Llewellyn: June 22, 1924

Beautiful Day. Took short rides. Loves up in afternoon. Uncle Rene came out in evening. Only went to Sunday School in morning. Willa taught Margaret VD’s class. Aunt Aggie though Marguerite was getting hooping cough.

Diary of Llewellyn: June 21, 1924

Trip up Hudson. Ruth came in with me in the morning. Willa, Ruth and I went together – 16 from Caldwell. Beautiful rainbow and sunset coming down. Willa went home with me, stayed over Sunday. Reached home about 12 o’clock. Went by way of tubes.

Terrible storm from 7 to 9. Lightening very sharp. Ragan’s house struck. Roads all washed out – (unreadable) like mad.
