Lillian Redford, you’ve been found!
It’s been awhile since I’ve made a surprising brick wall breakthrough. One of the biggest ones was Lillian Redford. It was a little bit harder because her brother named one of his daughters after her. So things always got a little confusing. Until 30 minutes ago. I was just going through some California City Directories, clicking the green leaf reluctantly in Family Tree Maker.
My only question is, “Why now?” I have searched for Lillian a million times over the years and it’s never yielded a result. They must have done an update of some kind that added new records or maybe a refined search algorithm. I don’t quite care though, because I finally have something on Lillian after 1920!

Geo took me down to Montclair to get my skirt I had pleated. Pa went to bed early as he felt half sick with cold. Finished skirt & then embroidered & listened to radio till 11 o’clock.

Mildred & I went out to sell tickets for Lecture Courses. Went to Kirk’s and then up to Avenue & had ice cream. Pa had cold and went to bed about 7:30. Miss Sweeney away sick. We all worked to 5 o’clock. Got my watch back from jewelers. Cost $6.00 to have it fixed. Guaranteed for 1 year.

Ruth Glazier came down in afternoon, started sweater for her. Ma went to Movies at night. Took skirt down to be pleated. Took coat & skirt to tailor.

Ma & I went to Newark shopping. Bought material for wool crepe skirt.
Miss Sweney’s birthday. Gave her step-ins. Bought center piece to embroider.

Where is my Genealogy sponsor?
Almost a year ago (Yikes!), I posted about a bad habit of mine. I’ve tried my hardest to beat this habit, but I learned today that it’s still there. I’m admitting it for the second time. I sometimes have a hard time checking the whole page of a source. There I’ve said it out loud. I’ve admitted it to the internet masses. I have learned to check the whole precinct of a census, however this hasn’t bled over into the other sources I use. Which are a lot.
In my defense, sometimes things don’t seem important at the time. To extend that thought, sometimes you just don’t have enough information at that time to know something is important.
