Excursion. I took my 1 days vacation off. Very stormy & Cloudy early in morning. Sun out by time we watched Ashiry (sp?). Lovely afternoon. Water dandy – 68. Pa – Geo & I went in bathing. Grandma & Mama sat on beach. About 450 from Caldwell went.

Went uptown and bought black & white sleeveless sweater. We all went to bed early so we could be up early for excursion.

Took ride to Suffern at night. Pa gave Uncle Rene another lesson at driving car. I took Marguerite & went with them. Very cold coming home in machine. Pa had overcoat on in backseat.

Went to all of church service. Had dinner at 1 o’clock and left for home at 2 o’clock. Jennie met us at Grand Central in New York. Pa met me at Lukes in Newark. Beulah & Jennie came up by trolley. Heavy thunder shower in Caldwell in afternoon.

Went to all classes. Concert at night. Large campfire after concert. Very warm until about 2 o’clock when it showered.

Quilting has taken over
I haven’t had much time for my genealogy lately. It’s the chaos of summer and quilting that has me busy as a bee. Hopefully things will calm down now that all the trips are done with and Grandpa is settled. I’ve discovered quilting really relaxes me so I’ve been working on that a little more then genealogy. I’ve got the itch to have a genealogy day soon though! My research didn’t happen this summer because of circumstances, so I have a little more time now to sort through my family files and get them straight. I’m still transcribing Llewellyn’s Diary, and I have an inbox full of emails to answer today. So don’t give up on me yet! It’s just a sign of summer.

Miss Gerold’s 25th anniversary. We had picture taken of table. Gave her flowers. Miss Pusch & I made Jackhorner pie for it. She was very much surprised.

Office closed out of respect for Mr. Woodward. Sewed all day long. Ma & Pa went down to see boys play ball at diamond after supper. Quite hot in evening.
