Stayed home from work. Had a cold in my head & chest. Ma bought new suit & dress and I got blue & white crepe dress. Rather chilly

Diary of Llewellyn: April 8, 1923
Went out to Sunday School & Church in morning. My cold so bad I couldn’t sing very much. Showered on and off all day. Ma, Pa & I went to Suffern at 5:15. It blew up very cold and I rode in the bottom of cars on the way back. Ernest & his Grandmother went down to Conference Sunday morning.

Meeting of Alethea class at Moeser’s. We arranged for supper we are to give on Wednesday night for Teachers Training class & Bible class. Saw Ernest up street before meeting. Was talking to him & Roswell for a while. Dorothy, Irene, Ottile went to a party at Lynch’s. Rainy night.

Bible Training & Teacher’s class. Supper served by Mrs Mitchell & class. Mr. Gillespie preached his last at prayer meeting. Topic – love. Last song we sang was God be with you till we meet again. Went down to Mildred C’s for awhile after prayer meeting. Ma & Pa went down to the Shubert Teater in Newark.

Easter Sunday. Beautiful Day. Rather chilly. Ralph came ? from Detroit. Mr. Gillespie preached his last sermon. Ma & Pa went to Roseland about quarter of five. I took a nap in afternoon. Choir sang Crucifixion & Ascension, all wore white. Margeret & Jack had baby christened.
