I’m back sharing more slides from 1962!

We are in Cypress Gardens, Florida! Technically in 2025 we are in Legoland. Which I have visited with my niece and nephew and it’s very cool to see how Legoland is honoring the history of Cypress Gardens. There are call backs to the themes of the old botanical gardens. In fact its still a fully functional botanical garden.
If you’d like to view this pretty cool place, there is a Google Street View available there!

The Water Stunt Show is also still active!

Cypress Gardens, 1962

I have to say, I am really glad that Legoland kept the Cypress Gardens section mostly untouched. To be able to visit this same place 60 years after my great-grandparents were there is pretty cool. Not to mention watching my niece and nephew run around enjoying the same space.
One thing that is helping me to identify some places on these slides is that most of them have a botanical garden. My Google searches are still trying to find a map of the East Coast in the 1960s listing Botanical Gardens. There are still some mysteries on the slides to solve.

Here’s the current map of places we’ve identified in the slides so far. More to come soon!
