I have been using FTB for about 10 years. Initially, I put my info directly in the program, but then found the ‘import/export to a spreadsheet’ facility. Fortunately, the amount of info I had was not great, so I converted to having a spreadsheet as my primary source of data insertion, and then as required, updated to the program. The advantage is seen when inserting a large amount of info (in Australia, such as electoral roll info) where each entry is very similar. I use copy and paste in the spreadsheet. One caveat here – up to version 6, import facility worked for both people and families (read marriages). Versions 7 and 8 have a bug that does no allow the import of families.

I can definitely see how that method would be more beneficial. Copy/Paste is a big deal. When I started I wasn’t that familiar with Excel or computer spreadsheets. I am getting very good at them now though and I am constantly tweaking my spreadsheets. I will have to look at my program and see what kinds of import/export options there are.

I am researching Francis Rowe, born early 1800 and married Ehud Mays. They were parents of Mahala Mays. She was married to a Whitt and their daughter was Sarah Whitt Adkins. Sarah Whitt Adkins had a daughter named Adeline “Addie” Adkins. She had a daughter named Eliza “Onia”
Stamper born early 1900s. Father Green or Greenville Stamper. Onia married Wm Oliver Blankenship. My mother Marhaley” Susan” Blankenship born 1919 married Ola Caskey 1935. Would like to know more. Is there a native american connection with Fanny Rowe or perhaps a biracial relationship connected to a slave owner. I DO NOT know how to proceed from here. Does anyone have any knowledge where to go to from here?
