Took ride to Freehold & then to Asbury & then to Highlands. Traffic very bad. Home about 10:30.

Diary of Llewellyn: July 12, 1924

George, Ernie & Ros left for Institute. I went up to Ruth’s at night & brought home my orange dress Mrs. G made me. Primary Dept had bake sale in morning. Helen asked me to be her maid of honor in Sept. Miss S. started her vacation.

Diary of Llewellyn: July 11, 1924

Papa took me to Montclair to get my red jacket and then we went down to Bloomfield and he got a shave & haircut. George bought me a racquet and camera. I gave him $6.00 toward it. Geo sold his cut down for $65.

Diary of Llewellyn: July 10, 1924

Had my hair washed at 6 o’clock. Went up to Mrs. Glazier’s and had orange dress tried on. Folks picked cherries and then took a ride.

Diary of Llewellyn: July 9, 1924

Papa came back from farm about 7:20. We took ride around West Caldwell, Fairfield and Singac. Then started for Suffern. Met Uncle Rene on the road to Oakland. We turned around & they came out to Caldwell. Had Mr. Ekinger with them. Marguerite felt better. Had coughing spell before she went home.

Diary of Llewellyn: July 8, 1924

Caught in the rain. I had to stay at station until 6:30. Papa met me with truck. He had to take all the help home from the store. Caldwell flooded.

Diary of Llewellyn: July 7, 1924

Picked cherries. Mr Ellinger came down to see Papa. I beat it in the house as I had on old sleeveless dress. We picked 24 qts of cherries for Papa to take to Market. Geo ran over my toe with fliver, did not hurt.

Diary of Llewellyn: July 6, 1924

Went up to see Marguerite in afternoon. She was very sick with whooping cough. Papa & Irving went over to ballgame for awhile. Reached home about 6 o’clock, after Papa got back from farm about 9 o’clock, we took short ride.

Diary of Llewellyn: July 5, 1924

Mama and I went down to see When a Man’s a Man at the Wellmont. I bought white liner dress at Fashion Center and ordered a flannel jacket & blouse. Went up to see Ruth after supper. Elbert there. Came home about 12:15. We started having Saturdays off.

Diary of Llewellyn: July 4, 1924

We all went down to Clinton for dinner. In afternoon went to ballgame. Papa went to farm and when he came back we took short ride and then stopped at the Catholic fair. I won a box of candy.
